"What is the business of Africa? A few years ago naming a magazine Business in Africa would have been a contradiction in terms. But today I stand here to receive an award for one of my colleague journalists who has shown that the reporting of Africa, the information that is generated out of Africa, is important in terms of the well being of the continent. And to that extent we feel that when you look at the African terrain, the per capita coverage in terms of media is very low. The investment in media, the investment in generating information, is still very poor. We need to put resources into generating a positive image of Africa by investing in African media. There is a lot to be done to develop the media in Africa, and I feel that this award is one big step."
