"My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen. I am proud to accept this award. Not just for African Business, but for all those pan-African publications, big and small who have been fighting for so long, and so hard, and who have ploughed a long and lonely furrow most of the time, going against the tide. We haven't tried to portray Africa in a positive sense, we have simply tried to portray Africa as we know it. Most of our journalists are from Africa, - we work in London because London is the communications centre. Yet most of what we read in the newspapers bears little resemblance to the Africa we know. So all we did was to present it as we want, and as far as we are concerned Africa has enormous potential and we will continue to report it as we know it."
