Guinness Nigeria built and donated three eye hospitals in Kaduna (the first was built in 1963), Onitsha and Lagos and has continued to support these over the years.

Uganda Breweries and East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) give both financial and practical support to the Sickle Cell Association in Kenya and Uganda.

In Ghana, we support the National Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Ghana Heart Foundation.

> All our Africa businesses operate HIV/Aids education programmes aimed at raising awareness, preventing proliferation of the syndrome and combating discrimination in the workplace. Our workplace programmes are open to all employees and their immediate dependents and those diagnosed with HIV are treated and provided with anti-retroviral drugs for life. The programmes also encourage and support all our employees and their dependents to access Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) services to know their status. Many of our businesses operate HIV/Aids education programmes alongside their business activities. In Cameroon, education lectures and materials on HIV/Aids prevention form part of the brewery tour attended by 30 visitors every week.
