Guinness Nigeria has set up a programme to donate computers to secondary schools in particular need of basic equipment.
Over the past five years East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) has ran a scholarship programme on four-year business degree courses at Strathmore University in Kenya. So far 40 academically gifted students, from poor and needy backgrounds, have benefited from this and a further 14 students are expected to participate this year.
In Ghana, we are supporting the Heineken-led initiative to establish a post-graduate college, which will award MSc degrees in ICT. The college is the first of its kind in West Africa and is expected to attract students from across the region. |

In South Africa, we built a one-stop community centre in Colesberg. The Guinness Skills for Life Centre provides a range of valuable community amenities for the people of Colesberg including HIV and AIDS advice, an enterprise unit, adult education, entrepreneurial training and a communications centre.
We annually hold the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards to recognise international reporting of business in Africa. |
