Zeinab Badawi, who was born in Sudan, moved to London at the age of two with her family. She is an international news broadcaster, and presents BBC World News Today. She has worked for two decades in British broadcasting across a range of programmes in news and current affairs. She is also a regular presenter of HardTalk on BBC TV.

In addition to her professional activities, Zeinab is closely involved with Africa through her work with the Africa Medical Partnership Fund (AFRIMED), which sends vitally needed medical equipment to Africa from the UK. Ms Badawi is also a Trustee of the BBC World Service Trust - the charitable arm of the BBC, a board member of the British Council, a trustee of the National Portrait Gallery and the Centre for Contemporary British History. She is married and has four children.
