AWARDS HIGHLIGHTS

Paul Walsh
"Africa is a very important market for Diageo. It represents fantastic potential for growth and in fact has been a huge contributor to the growth of our business over the last few years.

There is no question in my mind that Africa offers huge potential, but it's also clear that to a certain extent it hasn't kept pace with the development levels that other markets have enjoyed. And I think that is in part because often people have huge misconceptions about operating in that environment.

We have enjoyed a long-standing very healthy business relationship on that continent. By sponsoring positive business reporting, accurate business reporting, we think we can encourage more to invest in Africa and enjoy the success that we have seen."
