2006 Awards

The 2006 Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards were presented at a gala ceremony at The Inner Temple in London on Thursday 29 June. The awards were well attended and received more entries than ever before.

At the ceremony His Excellency Mr Joseph Muchemi, Kenyan High Commissioner to UK spoke in favour of what the Awards are trying to achieve:

"Today Africa is more readily associated with conflict, famine, poverty and disease, rather than profits, entrepreneurs, dividends and prosperity. That, ladies and gentlemen, is why the work of the journalists who will be honoured here this evening is so important. Telling the story about business in Africa will help shift perceptions and create a more balanced view of economic opportunity in Africa."
